Maritime Stammzellen: Die Kraft des Meeres für jugendliche Haut

Maritime stem cells: The power of the sea for youthful skin

Raise your glasses! We're thrilled: It's finally time for another product launch. After almost two years of development and testing, the time has come: Our new serum – the “Anti-aging serum” with marine stem cells – is now available in the shop. That's a good reason for a closer look. Because after the “Antioxidant Booster Serum” and the plant complex oil “Liquid Youth“The “AAS” is now the third ultra-premium formulation – but the first where 48grams relies entirely on the nourishing power of the sea. This is also very new and very exciting for us members of the blog editorial team!”

48grams wants more!

As everyone knows by now, skin aging is a natural process that affects everyone. The loss of elasticity (everything feels tight, everything becomes thinner), the appearance of fine lines (or even deep wrinkles), and a dull complexion are the results of complex biological mechanisms. Reading this shouldn't spread hopelessness, however. These are simply the consequences of external influences such as pollution, lifestyle, and UV radiation. But no one has to surrender to these consequences without a fight: Modern research offers solutions that go far beyond superficial care. Chemist Bernd Kuhs, known in the media as the "Skincare Pope," has chosen a completely new, innovative approach for an anti-aging formulation for 48grams. He has been working with marine stem cells, specifically extracts from the brown algae "Undaria pinnatifida."

For hunger and for care

Anyone with a bit of knowledge wouldn't immediately think of skincare. This brown algae is better known as wakame – a specialty of Japanese cuisine. It's an ingredient in salads and miso soups – roasted, steamed, or boiled. Indeed, this algae, primarily found in Asian waters, has been part of the diet and traditional medicine for centuries. This latter aspect has attracted the attention of Western researchers – and thus also of 48grams mastermind Bernd Kuhs. The algae extract is rich in minerals such as calcium and potassium, as well as numerous bioactive substances that have an antioxidant effect and strengthen the important skin barrier. To put it simply: Undaria pinnatifida helps the tissue protect itself from harmful environmental influences. Furthermore, its ingredients simultaneously promote the natural regeneration of cells.

The stem cells from the algal DNA

This doesn't just sound fantastic. We members of the blog editorial team have all tested the "Anti-Aging Serum" (AAS), so we can say: It really is fantastic. And that's not just because of the brown algae. The marine stem cells – extracted in the lab from numerous other algae species – also attack another "enemy" of youthfulness. A highly relevant factor in the skin's aging process is the "defective" protein progerin. Its concentration increases with age. And that's really not good. To put it in very non-scientific (but understandable) terms: Progerin impairs cell function, weakens cell membranes, and leads to reduced production of collagen and elastin. These are, as we know, two essential components for firm and elastic skin. The 48grams serum aims to slow down or even reverse these processes. The stem cell DNA sustainably reduces progerin levels: Clinical tests have shown that the algae active ingredient can lower the progerin content of 66-year-old skin within one month – to the level of a 35-year-old.

Neutralization of oxidative damage

The serum's effectiveness isn't solely based on reducing progerin. It also activates the skin's natural protective mechanisms. A key role is played by the protein SIRT-1, marketed as the "protein of longevity." This remarkable protein protects cellular DNA and neutralizes oxidative damage. In short, the serum's cosmetic benefits are remarkable. After only a short period of use, skin appears firmer and smoother, pores are refined, and wrinkles are softened. Wow... those are some impressive promises.

Blog editorial team self-test

Our blog team includes members of all ages. Our youngest writer is 24, and our oldest celebrated her 52nd birthday at the beginning of November. So, we used the serum every day for two months and explored the question: How effective is the serum for different age groups? After all, anti-aging products are usually aimed at women who want to reduce existing wrinkles and restore a youthful appearance. The wonderful result, even for our younger blog editors, was that their skin showed a noticeable rejuvenation after four weeks; in particular, their pores appeared smaller. Cheers to that!
