There are topics that keep coming up in our editorial office. Whether by email, on social media, or on the phone. Then we know: These are questions that really concern our customers and readers. "Can I tell you your Masks "Can you actually use it more than once?" This topic has recently made it into the top 5. So far, we've answered it individually. Today, it's time for a blog post. Spoiler alert: The answer is "Yes, but..."
The secret of the second application
Our masks – whether for the face, the cleavage or specifically for regeneration – these are not single-use products. At least not in the traditional sense. We've explained the origin of our company name before: 48grams – because the masks weigh an average of 48 grams. This weight results from the fact that the biocellulose (the base material made from fermented coconut water) is completely saturated with the active ingredient solution. Phew, that was a long sentence. To be precise, that's about 36 ml of liquid. It would simply be a shame to throw the mask away after just one use. But…
Please always pay attention!
…it's important to keep a few things in mind. Because the mask is a natural product, not every mask is suitable for a second use. If the biocellulose has absorbed less of the active ingredient – and released it all onto the skin during the first use – then the product should be discarded. You'll know this because the mask will no longer be moist. Otherwise, after the first use, carefully place the product back into the sachet, seal it tightly, and then put it in the refrigerator. It will keep for a maximum of two weeks there. The cold ensures that the ingredients remain stable.
Experiences from the community
Many of our customers have already tried it. The feedback has been consistently enthusiastic: "The second application was just as wonderful as the first." Bernd Kuhs, the creator of all 48grams products, mentions this fact with pride time and again. For him, it's a logical consequence of the formulation – and, of course, the revolutionary biomembrane. It's a replica of human sebum and ensures that ingredients can penetrate the tissue better and deeper.
Which mask for which use?
Whether calming Aloe mask, moisturizing Hyaluronic acid mask, the firming variant for cleavage or the Stress Relief Mask For special needs (e.g., severe sunburn or after cosmetic treatments): They all have one thing in common. Their formulas are highly concentrated and naturally free of unnecessary additives. Each has a different effect. Aloe vera soothes irritated skin and provides a wonderful feeling of freshness. Hyaluronic acid, on the other hand, plumps up lines and ensures a beautifully supple complexion. The décolleté mask uses vitamin C and niacinamide to firm the skin, while the Stress Relief Mask, with mastic oil and oligo-hyaluronic acid, supports regeneration. In all cases, the second application offers double the care with the same product.
More care, less waste
Using the mask twice isn't just beneficial for your skin. It's also a statement from 48grams about sustainability. This reduces waste and, consequently, the burden on the environment. We also take responsibility when it comes to packaging: Each mask is wrapped in a sachet of cellophane (which makes it easier to remove) that is 100% biodegradable. This is also the credo here in the blog editorial team: Skincare and sustainability must go hand in hand. Even luxury can be resource-efficient if it's consciously considered.
