We proudly announce: Our first sun gel It is now available in the shop. With this, we have also taken a significant step: For the first time, we have broken with our dogma, our previous requirement to offer only products with 100% organic ingredients. The new gel contains approximately 75% organic ingredients. The reason for this is understandable: A transparent, water-based hydrogel Good protection (30+) cannot be achieved using only natural raw materials.
Sunscreen is mandatory, not an extra.
To avoid confusion for you, our valued customers, this blog post aims to clarify: Which of the two products is suitable for which occasion? But first, a clear statement: Sunscreen is not optional, it's essential. Not just at the beach, but in everyday life. UVA and UVB rays are invisible attackers. They accelerate wrinkle formation. They trigger age spots. In the worst-case scenario, they cause skin cancer. That's why we're happy to reiterate: SPF is the most effective anti-aging tool available. And that's precisely why we at 48grams always maintain the highest standards.
The cream – our classic, 100% organic
Let's start with the heart of our sun protection line: the Sun Protection Face Cream. It has been a bestseller since its launch two years ago. Its secret lies in the mineral filter zinc oxide. This acts like a protective shield: UV rays are reflected and scattered. This is how the sun protection factor (SPF) of 50 is made possible. Our customers are happy to wait several minutes for it to take effect. We at the blog like to say: The cream is like a coat. It forms a protective layer over the skin, soothes, nourishes, and provides a sense of security. The formula also relies on skin-friendly lipids and vitamin E – the latter is ideal for combating free radicals. And for all purists: It consists of 100% naturally derived ingredients (ISO 16128). That was and remains our promise.
The gel – 30+, feather-light, 75% organic
And now for our newest addition. The sun gel isn't simply "a different texture." It's a completely new concept, carefully formulated and tested over a long period. Again and again. The result: our Hydro Sun Protection Sunscreen Gel With SPF 30+. It absorbs instantly, is non-sticky, and invisible on the skin. Modern organic filters – Disodium Phenyl Dibenzimidazole Tetrasulfonate and Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid – provide protection: They absorb rays and convert them into heat. This is precisely what makes the formula transparent, feather-light, and weightless. In other words: protection that's there without being seen or felt.
The gel, which is a care product
The gel It's also a skincare product. The niacinamide (vitamin B3) it contains soothes and strengthens the skin. Urea, sodium PCA, and lactic acid provide moisture. Vitamin E also acts as an antioxidant "bodyguard" against free radicals. With approximately 75% naturally derived ingredients according to ISO 16128, the gel doesn't violate our standards; it's a consciously chosen compromise. Without this step, a hydrogel texture with a high SPF simply wouldn't have been possible.
