In recent years, hyaluronic acid has become an essential part of most people's skincare routines. The ingredient can be found in creams, serums, masks, body lotions, and countless other skincare products.
One gram of hyaluronic acid can store up to an incredible 10 liters of water and is therefore extremely moisturizing.
Hyaluronic acid has also become indispensable in aesthetic medicine, and the miracle cure can even be injected under the skin as a “filler.”
But what exactly is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar-like compound produced by the body.
It contributes to the friction-free mechanics and stability of joints, keeps the eyes moist and ensures smooth and elastic skin.
However, the body's own production of hyaluronic acid begins to decline from the age of 20. By the age of 50, it is only half as high as it was during adolescence.
As a result, the skin no longer appears as plump and firm, wrinkles deepen, and the general aging process of the skin is accelerated.
This can be counteracted with the regular use of hyaluronic acid.
Does size really matter?
When it comes to hyaluronic acid, then yes!
There are three different types of hyaluronic acid. They all differ in size and effectiveness.
1. The high molecular/long-chain hyaluronic acid
This is the hyaluronic acid with the largest molecules and therefore only penetrates the top layer of skin, thus producing no long-lasting results.
2. Low molecular/short-chain hyaluronic acid
Due to its lower molecular mass, this hyaluronic acid is more effective and penetrates the middle layers of the skin, resulting in longer-lasting results.
3. Oligo-hyaluronic acid/micro-chain hyaluronic acid
Oligo-hyaluronic acid consists of microscopically small molecules that penetrate into the deepest layers of the skin and are stored there. With regular use, it produces long-lasting results and plumps the skin from within.
As you can see, the smaller the molecular structure, the more effective the hyaluronic acid.
Many brands advertise that they use hyaluronic acid in their products, but these are usually only the less effective, weak forms.
At 48grams, we only use highly concentrated oligo-hyaluronic acid, which is the most valuable and effective hyaluronic acid available.
With this precious active ingredient, our Hyaluron Biomembrane Mask a real anti-aging heroine.
Application:
If you use hyaluronic acid in the form of a serum, it is important to ensure that your face is still damp after washing so that the molecules can bind the liquid and absorb it into the skin.
In addition, after using hyaluronic serums – optionally also our Hyaluron Biomembrane Mask – Apply an oil-based cream to lock moisture into your skin.
If you haven't yet incorporated this liquid gold into your skincare routine, it's high time!
After the first application, you will notice how your skin literally absorbs the elixir and your complexion appears more radiant and vital.
Through regular use of oligo-hyaluronic acid, the moisture content of your skin is increased, and wrinkles and sagging skin are visibly reduced.
